Entertainment at Stormtrack

Wow what a fun couple of days it's been over at Stormtrack. It seems SDS has already taken over a majority of the members with an effect of a series of flame wars. It started last night in a topic about Reed Timmer and people who were on both sides of liking him. Unfortunately, I didn't see it until the mods had gone through and gotten rid of the worst posts but there still some amusing ones in there. A lot of history and bad blood in that thread which I have no clue about so I'll stop here about that thread.

This morning Bob Hartig posted a thread about civility since the flame war on Monday night got so out of hand, and it was FAR from the first one, but also FAR from the last. It didn't take long for this thread to go down the exact same road as the thread on Monday night. This time, IMO, it's even more heated than last night's war. I lost some respect for some people but then again maybe that proves how little I knew them. Even still, you'd hope people would be bigger than some of them were in these threads. But for the rest of us it's fun to kick back and watch everything unfold. Hopefully the mods don't lock it soon since it'll be entertaining.

One thing I do have to say is that Tim and the mods at ST don't deserve to have to put up with this shit, but then again what did they expect when they took on that responsibility? Funny how the mods let these threads go sometimes too. It's gonna be a long and interesting winter.

Best one yet was Rob Dewey's "axe murderer" comment direct at MC. Nice...

lol The mods must've erased that one before I got to see it. Oh well, I know this won't be the last war this winter. Maybe we should start a "Best Of" for quotes this winter? I think that'd be pretty funny.

The unfortunate thing is, I never said anything bad about Reed personally...my comment was merely questioning why so many on ST seem to worship him. I even expounded on this point in my second post before everyone lost their heads and went to mudslinging.

I don't wanna know what my closest friends are doing 24/7...I sure as hell could care less what some other storm chaser is up to. I guess I'm the only one sick of the Timmer overkill.

If people would bother to read not only what I say, but the context in which it's said, they might not jump to conclusions. In fact I was the first person defending Reed when the personal jabs started. ST is absolute shit, it's just too dumb for my material.

I can't wait for my ban to be lifted Saturday so I can go back on there and tell the mods to fuck off.

Yea there are definitely some dumb people there who's only motive for posting is to oppose the other's opinion (Justin Wiley for example). These kinds of people are too thick headed to accept a different opinion and as a result we get what happened on Monday.

A lot of topics are ST are dumb, but the way I stay sane is not even going in to the threads that I know are going to be full of dumbshit replies, and quite a bit of the time it is obvious just by the title of the thread or who posted the thread or who was the last person to respond. Every once in a while I have to look at them just for a good laugh, but I can't take them seriously so anything I might take as offensive I just laugh off and move on from those stupid threads.

But I know eventually my name will get thrown in to the fire and I will end up being one of the people banned for running my mouth. Shit happens. Hopefully your name won't come up in the next war so you can just sit back, relax, and laugh at what's going on.

I saw the comments originally posted, and I agree that Shane was not taking shots at Reed, but those pathetic groupies that follow his every move. And quite frankly, tell me where he was wrong. I don't seek autographs, and I don't think that because someone has a job in movies or on tv, that you are better than me. I don't look up to those people.

I once made a monetary donation to ST, then was threatened with them deleting my account because I didn't have enough posts. Quite frankly, ST has changed over the years, and it isn't worth posting anything on there because there is always someone that can't mind their own business. I do read it from time-to-time, but rarely even login. There is NO chance that I will give them my donation again. A lot of adults on their need to pull up their big girl panties and grow up.

I agree with Shane. Screw 'em!

Yea, I mean I didnt see what went down like I said but I definitely believe Shane. People have been getting their panties all twisted up in ways I dont even want to picture all summer, just waiting for some minute, insignificant post to take all their aggression out on. It's really gonna be a long winter...
